    Since december 1st 2018 we have gone online! After a period of testing we feel like browse-your-networkconnected-devices-with-a-searchengine (or short: NetAsset) is ready for production. All relevant data of your network -and anything connected to it- easily browseable in a single location.
    Our business philosophy is that finding data should'nt be more difficult than asking a question.

What is NetAsset?

NetAsset is business-to-business software that collects data directly from your equipment, puts this data in a database and makes the data available to networkadministrators through a searchengine. We can also get data from existing applications if that has an interface (e.g. REST) or a database that can be queried. Whatever is needed to get the info as reliable as possible. We made NetAsset for Network Asset Management, with the purpose to let administrators spend as little time as possible finding assets, administrating and reporting on them.

Because scale is important to have to most use of the software our intented audience are enterprise and medium sized companies.
It is important to note that NetAsset is not intended as monitoring software: There is enough software out there to do that.

We find it very important that finding hardware should be as easy as using an internet search engine. We have come a long way with that already. Because of the huge diversity of equipment and us wanting to be able to support us much companystructures as possible, we are searching companies to help us further develop NetAsset by joining forces. The more equipment we can detect automatically, the better we can serve you. We also want to provide as much relevant and compact reports as possible.

Why did we make NetAsset?

Computernetworks get increasingly complex tot manage because of the expanding diversity and quantity of equipment connected to the network. In some cases you don't have more then just an IP adres or a MAC adres to find a piece of equipment. Though connected equipment can reveil quite some information about itself, usually the information is scattered over a number of management applications. For network equipment there are tools like Solarwinds and Cisco Prime. They will tell you a lot over the network equipment itself. That however, will not tell you anything about your printers with might be managed by HP webjebadmin or Xerox software. Then you have your desktops, laptops and servers and virtualisation software. That information is stored in even more applications. By getting data straight from the equipment using SNMP, WMI and REST and combining this information, NetAsset can locate the information you are searching for very quick and give you relevant and detailled information about your equipment. We can also use information from existing databases and tools, whatever gets you the most reliable results.

Everything in one place

In a company with one switch and 10 desktops it is no problem finding a desktop or information on it. But what if you have 1500 desktops or even more, scattered over a number of buildings or even cities and countries? Then finding desktops can become very timeconsuming.
The Windows OS provides heaps of information that can be extracted from the OS using WMI. Switches and routers provide MAC and ARP tables and if your company has it, 802.1 authentication information. Sources as ActiveDirectory and DNS are also used by NetAsset. Netasset keeps historic information for you the find as well.
By using this information and combining the information NetAsset can tell you were for instance a desktop, a printer or a server is located and give detailed information. The possibilities are limited mostly by the data the equipment can provide.

Manage multiple networks

Does your company have multiple locations and are they attached by networkconnections? Then you can query the data from your satellite locations as well.
